Almost at six months

So I have been back in my site now for a little over a week after my second training. Training was awesome! We travelled all over the country learining about projects that volunteers do here in El Salvador. We learned how to make shampoo, write grants, do kids camps, learned about clean stoves, educating on HIV, gardening, and much more. All this in two weeks was a lot and I still don´t really feel prepared to do any of this in my site, but I am still new and it will take some time.

Things have been really hard for me since getting back to my site. I have had a lot of down time and many people in my community have been asking for big physical things that I don´t have the means to get them. All this and missing my family and friends at home have made this week really hard! Talking to other volunteers however makes me feel better because they all seem to be in the same boat as well. I have decided that I will be able to come to Chris and Blair´s (my uncle) wedding this Oct. in Vermont so I have something great to look forward to in a couple of months. I cannot wait to be able to spend some time with my family.

My computer charger cord has decided to stop working so I can´t charge my computer at the moment. Meaning that I had to type this at the cyber so it will be shorter than most of my other entries. Better news is that I am getting a kitten that will hopefully grow up into a big rat killing machine! I have even more rats now because it has begun to rain almost everyday and they all are looking for some shelter. I set out some of the rat poisen that Emily sent me and it dissappeared really quick so lets hope that they gobbled that up and will no longer be making nightly appearences.

Also HAPPY FATHERS DAY to my fantastic father tomorrow! I could not have asked for a better father or family! Thank you for always supporting me and always pushing me to be a better person.
